Jim Barry purchased the retired Penola cricket ground, pitch and pavilion, in 1997 and planted it to Cabernet Sauvignon. Situated along the famous Terra Rossa strip in Coonawarra, the vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon of the highest quality. First released in 2005, The First XI honours the legends of Australian cricket. Those elite sportsmen who have achieved the distinction of representing their country at the highest level.
